Okay Ms Wallace, we scared of you!

Well Looky Here! Jesse Jackson writes a letter to Obama
I have lost all respect for Jesse Jackson over the years. First straw was the illegitimate child he had outside of his marriage and then the use of the n-word in reference to Obama in an interview when he thought no one was listening. (especially since he was walking around trying to abolish the n-word). Now he is trying to keep himself relevant by scribing a letter to the President on education, voting rights and the economy. If you care to read it here is the link:

Lisa Raye Speaks to Essence
LISARAYE McCOY-MISICK: Why is it that people don't embrace one another when we're going through a tough time? Some of the things I read about me were so wrong and hurtful, but I am fine. It's okay to move forward because things happen. Does it hurt? Yes. Am I disappointed? Incredibly. But this too shall pass.
ESSENCE.COM: Is it difficult to go through rough times publicly, especially with a spouse.
LISARAYE: Yes. There is a law in Turks and Caicos that you must remain married for three years before you begin any kind of divorce proceedings. If you want to get a divorce before that you have to be able to prove certain things that will grant you the right to do so.
ESSENCE.COM: What evidence did you provide that helped you in your case?
LISARAYE: I can't be specific right now. I will say that there are things that happen within a marriage which can disrespect the union and actions can be taken against those things. As an actress, I have put myself out there as an independent Black woman, a single mom, a go-getter, a hustler who isn't afraid to survive. If you get with a man who goes against who you are or what you believe in, people who know you begin to say, "Hey, that's not the LisaRaye I know." As his wife, my name has been associated with things that I have nothing to do with, and I have to fight to clear my name.

Documentry: Good Hair?
"Working on a project that took two years in the making, actor and comedian Chris Rock has completed a controversial documentary called, “Good Hair,” that uproots the inter-workings of the $9 billion dollar African-American hair industry. Inspired by what he calls his youngest daughter's “hair envy,” or uneasiness with her naturally curly hair, Rock has set out to discover the power and politics around African-Americans and their hair, according to the Wall Street Journal. Rock traveled across the country from beauty salons to barbershops, to hair chemical factories, interviewing ordinary people and celebrities about the political implications that our hair has had in the community. -QS"

We See You Will Smith!
REMARKABLE!!!
"A US Airways flight crashed into the Hudson just after 3 pm. The FAA reports everyone, including one baby, is off safely. There are no life threatening injuries. There is a flight attendant with an arm fracture, a leg break, and some non-threatening cases of hypothermia.
Just after 3:30 pm Thursday live coverage began of the plane downed in the river, with people standing on the wings. Flight 1549, an A320, took off from Laguardia on it's way to Charlotte at 3:26 pm. Read witness accounts here. The pilot reportedly flew over the George Washington Bridge at just 900 feet. It was in the air for about 7 minutes before hitting the river near the 50s, just off midtown".
Hats off the the pilot that with skill and experience saved 155 lives!

Deshawn Snow no Longer a "Real Housewife"
Deshawn confirmed with Essence about the rumors that she had been booted from the show. I am not surprised she was one big YAWN...
ESSENCE.COM: We hear that you are no longer returning to "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." Is that true?
DESHAWN SHOW:Yes, one of the producers called me yesterday and said that they wouldn't take my option.
ESSENCE.COM: What reason did they give for not inviting you back for the second season?
SNOW: [One of the producers] called and said that I was "too human for a circus show" and that because the show did so well, they are about to pump up the drama and they didn't think that I would fit in. He gave me an example, saying that during the reunion when I found out what a few of the other ladies said about me, they were expecting me to say more, but I'm not the type to go "television" and start acting crazy because somebody's talking about me. I'm fine with the decision. It wasn't my decision. They let me go and there are no hard feelings. I am thankful for the opportunity.
ESSENCE.COM: So were you at all shocked by the decision?
SNOW: I didn't see it coming. I was shocked because I just talked to them in December about the new season. It's not like they came to me and gave me an option by saying, "We're going to take a new direction and we want to know if you could be more like this." I was a little hurt, but I just look at it like I am what I am. [My personality] didn't seem to be a problem before, but I suppose the show took a different direction and they no longer see me as the right fit. If you look at all the other housewives, they are all different. I believe God moves people out of your way. It's about God having his hand upon you and doing things for you. I'm not judging my situation. I look at the show as just a shutter-glimpse of what God has in store for me. I enjoyed being on the show and hanging with the girls. At the end of the day, I was the same person throughout the show. I never changed. I was authentic and true to myself and I can't control what other people do.

A letter to Sasha & Malia from Dad
In this weeks Parade Magazine Barack Obama pens a letter to his your daughters express his gratitude and his hope for the future.
"Dear Malia and Sasha,
I know that you've both had a lot of fun these last two years on the campaign trail, going to picnics and parades and state fairs, eating all sorts of junk food your mother and I probably shouldn't have let you have. But I also know that it hasn't always been easy for you and Mom, and that as excited as you both are about that new puppy, it doesn't make up for all the time we've been apart. I know how much I've missed these past two years, and today I want to tell you a little more about why I decided to take our family on this journey. When I was a young man, I thought life was all about me‚-about how I'd make my way in the world, become successful, and get the things I want. But then the two of you came into my world with all your curiosity and mischief and those smiles that never fail to fill my heart and light up my day. And suddenly, all my big plans for myself didn't seem so important anymore. I soon found that the greatest joy in my life was the joy I saw in yours. And I realized that my own life wouldn't count for much unless I was able to ensure that you had every opportunity for happiness and fulfillment in yours. In the end, girls, that's why I ran for President: because of what I want for you and for every child in this nation."
